For twenty years, the intimate Hartshorn Theatre has been the home of the Professional Theatre Training and the presentation of the world's great plays. Now through the overwhelming generosity of donors and the leadership of David and Louise Roselle, both the Resident Ensemble Players and the PTTP have gained two additional performance spaces - the Wilhelmina Press Thompson Theatre and the Studio Theatre, both housed in the beautiful Roselle Center for the Arts.

Center for the Arts

This dazzling performing arts and educational facility serves as a focal point of the University of Delaware's performing arts community. Two theaters provide ample opportunities to attend exhilarating theatre at extraordinariy economical prices.

The Wilhelmina Press Thompson Theatre, a stunning jewel box known as "The Thompson" is a beautiful two-story proscenium theatre with a full fly system.

The Studio Theatre is a intimate black box space allowing flexible staging of smaller productions.
 
Directions

110 Orchard Street

Take I-95 to Delaware Exit 1-B; Route 896 North, which becomes South College Avenue at the intersection of Route 4. Continue straight approximately 2 miles on South College Avenue (past Fred P. Rullo Stadium, the Bob Carpenter/Sports Convocation Center, Delaware Stadium, and the Delaware Field House). Turn left on Kent Way and travel one block to Orchard Road. The Center for the Arts is on the corner of Kent Way and Orchard Road.

Parking

General Public parking is recommended in the CFA Parking Garage between Elkton Road and Amstel Ave. From the CFA - turn right onto Orchard Road. Turn left onto Amstel Ave. There is one entrance to the CFA Parking garage 1/2 a block on your left. A second entrance is off of Elkton Road: continue driving from the left turn onto Amstel and turn left onto Elkton Road. The second entrance beyond the garage, on the left.



Price

Weeknights: The parking charge for the CFA and Perkins Garages on weeknights is $.60 per 1/2 hour or part thereof. Parking for a PTTP production on weeknights will cost approximately $3.60 and $4.80 depending on lenght of performance.


Weekends: The parking charge for the CFA and Perkins Garages on weekends is $.30 per 1/2 hour or part thereof, with a maximum charge of $3.00. Parking for a PTTP production on weekends will cost $3.00.

ONLY CASH IS ACCEPTED IN THE PARKING GARAGES.

The original home of the nationally renowned Professional Theatre Training Program, the delightfully versatile space allows for a wide range of setups - from a thrust stage for a production of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream to a theatre-in-the-round production of Kaufman and Hart's You Can't Take It With You.

413 Academy Street

Take I-95 to Delaware Exit 1-B; Route 896 North, which becomes South College Avenue at the intersection of Route 4. Continue straight approximately 1.5 miles on South College Avenue (past Fred P. Rullo Stadium, the Bob Carpenter/Sports Convocation Center, Delaware Stadium, and the Delaware Field House). Turn right onto E. Park Place. Drive one block and turn left on Academy Street. Hartshorn Theatre is on the corner of Academy St. and E. Park Place.
